Monthly Meetings
Monthly meetings are noisy and full of joking. Lots of information about upcoming rides and events is given. Many changes take place so bring your ride book to keep track of them. If you can’t make your Chapter Meeting, please make every effort to make another chapter’s meeting so you are up to date with changes and events. YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AT OTHER CHAPTER’S MEETINGS! Different members provide refreshments each month and there is a tub of supplies available, such as coffee, coffeepot, filters, plates, etc.

Mystery Dinner Rides
Mystery dinner rides are great fun. Sometimes it's just an excuse to ride; sometimes the ride is just an excuse to eat. Either way it's fun and you always get to sit by someone new! Restaurants vary from old familiar ones to new experimental ones. If you are in charge of the Mystery Dinner ride, your job is to decide upon and call the restaurant you would like us all to go to. You need to make sure they can handle the size of the group and that we can all sit somewhat together. Some restaurants have been willing to set up one big table. A couple of days before the ride, you need to call the people signed up and tell them when and where to meet, usually at our designated place. Once all are there, divide bikes into groups if necessary and make sure leaders of each group know where we are heading. As far as paying most times we just use the honor system and each put in our fair share. If it looks fairly equal, we just divide the total by the number of people and go that way. It always seems to work out. Have fun in planning these—they can be pretty easy as long as the restaurant knows what to expect.

Monthly Weekend Rides
Monthly Weekend Rides are a great way to get to know a smaller group of people. Rides are listed in the Ride Book, but not all of them have a host. Unless someone steps up to host the ride, it will be canceled. The host just needs to organize the logistics of the ride, i.e. route, places to eat or picnic, rest areas for potty breaks, hotel rooms if an over night trip, and possibly a Dairy Queen Stop! The host also needs to call the people signed up to remind them of when and where to meet. If you as a host are not comfortable actually leading a group on the riding part, just ask a more experienced rider/member to lead or give you pointers.

Progressive Dinner
Progressive Dinner is misleading, as it can be a whole day’s event. Typically we go to the first house for coffee and pastries or appetizers, depending on when the host wants to start the day. From there we are give maps and head off on a round about trip to the next “watering hole” for a course of salads. Repeat again the main course, take off again and go for a longer ride if possible before heading for the Gold Wing favorite, dessert! It is amazing how tired we can all be after having done nothing but ride and eat all day! Another great tradition which is always open to new and different idea.

Women’s Weekend
Women’s Weekend is just that. A chance for the ladies to visit and get to know each other. There are lots of laughs and good sharing. Just remember, the more you do, the faster you get to know all these crazy people.

Christmas Party
Chapter A & L – traditionally held at Hyland Hills Country Club. Each person attending is asked to bring a wrapped gift for either a male, female or “doesn’t matter” to be bartered off. That in itself is a wild and crazy affair. Don’t get too attached to what your first pick is—if it is good it won’t be yours for long! It is fun and a good way to see the majority of the people in both chapters.

Maintenance Clinics
Maintenance Clinics is a must for all to attend, riders and co-riders alike. It is a great way to get your bikes and minds ready for riding season. We have many talented men in our chapter who can help you with the intricacies of changing not only your oil, but all sorts of fluids! Brakes, tires, etc. are all checked. Co-riders, not only do you need to make sure your driver has your machine in tip-top condition, you need to give advise, stay out of the way, eat yummy pot-luck food and just have a good time while supporting the mechanics!

Impromptu Rides
Show up with a full tank of gas and there is no limit to where we will end up. Some rides have taken us out of state to just a quick ride into the mountains.
